| About Us Wooburn Woodchips was started by a design engineer called David Smith, David already owned and ran a successful engineering company called Bale-Pak which was involved in the manufacturer of balers and associated plant for the processing of equestrian and pet bedding products. Wooburn purchased its first baling machine from Bale-Pak in the January of 1985 and began producing 1st Quality bales via the Travis Perkins mill in Aylesford. David’s ethos as with his engineering company is to produce a quality product at all times, this has proved vital in the growth of both Wooburn and Bale-Pak over the last 20 years. Today Wooburn is still owned and run by David Smith. Wooburn production units now include Hull, Estonia, Latvia and still Aylesford some 20 years later. In 2003 Wooburn Woodchip sold over 500,000 bales in the U.K and is looking to increase this number for 2004. Wooburn customers get the benefit of dealing with a family run business which has excellent relationships with its source providers enabling Wooburn to guarantee not only its supply but the quality of its products produced. Wooburn’s customer base spans the U.K as far North as Scunthorpe and to the South in Devon. Wooburn is able to deliver nationally via its own artic Lorries and is supported by some of the biggest distribution companies in the U.K for any additional deliveries. |
